A bright smile that a lady found in Atitlan, Guatemala
Written by Yoon Jeong Cho,
In April, I visited a family in the vicinity of Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. The family just had a new stove and chimney installed.
The grandmother of the family who met us with a bright smile was very proud to introduce the chimney as "MY chimney." How desperate is it to make a chimney while looking at it, and how much gratitude and pleasure this family has experienced I could guess.
“My grandmother and my family were happy and thankful for staying safe without drinking more toxic gas and smoke when they cooked food in the house.” Ana (Assumed name) told the short term mission team of GEMA MISSION in April.
There are many many families in the same area of Atitlan Villages where the chimneys are not yet supported. I pray that more families will experience the same grateful testimonies.
